Connect your inbox

2 min readInboxOji Help

Before InboxOji can draft anything, it needs to connect to the inbox where your email actually arrives. Today that means Gmail, through a quick Google sign-in. It takes about a minute, and you stay in control the whole way.

Connect the account that receives the email you answer most. If customer questions land in one address and you reply from there, that is the one to connect — InboxOji drafts in the place you already work.

Connect your Gmail

  1. Start the connection

From the dashboard or Settings, choose Connect inbox (Connect Gmail). This opens Google's sign-in window.

  2. Pick your Google account

Choose the Google account you want InboxOji to draft for. If you are signed into several, pick the inbox where the email you answer actually arrives.

  3. Review what you're allowing

Google shows you what InboxOji is asking for: permission to read the emails your rules match and to create drafts in your name. That is what lets InboxOji find the right messages and leave a ready reply waiting for you. It does not send anything on its own.

  4. Pass the "unverified app" screen

You may see a Google screen that says "Google hasn't verified this app." This is expected — InboxOji is partway through Google's formal verification, and the warning just means that review isn't finished yet. It is safe to continue: you are granting access to InboxOji only, your connection is encrypted, and you can disconnect any time.

To proceed, click Advanced (or Show advanced), then Go to InboxOji (unsafe), then Continue. "Unsafe" is simply Google's standard wording for any app still in verification — it is not a sign that anything is wrong.

  5. You're connected

Google returns you to InboxOji with your mailbox linked. From here you can create your first rule and tell InboxOji which emails to handle.

Connecting does not open your whole inbox

InboxOji only acts on mail that matches a rule you've made live. Everything else in your inbox stays private and untouched. And InboxOji never sends a reply without you, unless you deliberately turn on auto-send for a specific rule later on.

What happens next

With your inbox connected, you are ready to set up what InboxOji handles. See Create your first rule to point it at one kind of email — say, invoice questions — and watch it draft a reply in your voice.

If the connection ever drops or needs a refresh, you can reconnect at any time without losing your rules. See Reconnect a mailbox for the steps.
