Default reply language

InboxOji can reply in a language you choose, or simply answer each email in the language it was written in. You set this once, and you can override it for any rule that needs something different.

Two ways to choose a language

You have two options for the language your drafts come out in:

• A fixed language — every draft is written in the language you pick, no matter what language the email came in. Good if you always reply in one language.
• Match the incoming email — InboxOji answers each message in whatever language it was written in. Good if you get mail in several languages and want each person answered in theirs.

For example, if a customer writes to you in Japanese and you have chosen "Match the incoming email," your draft comes back in Japanese. If you have chosen English as a fixed language, the draft comes back in English regardless.

Set your default

Your default reply language lives in Settings and applies to every rule unless a rule says otherwise.

1. Open Settings

   Go to Settings.

2. Choose your default reply language

   Pick a specific language, or choose "Match the incoming email" to answer each message in its own language.

3. Save

   That's it. From now on, every draft uses this default unless a rule overrides it.

Override it for one rule

Sometimes one situation needs a different language than the rest of your mail. A rule can carry its own reply language, which takes priority over your default for that rule only.

1. Open the rule

   On the Rules page, open the rule you want to change and go into its settings.

2. Pick the rule's reply language

   Choose a fixed language or "Match the incoming email" for this rule. Drafts from this rule now use that choice; every other rule keeps following your default.

So you might keep your default as "Match the incoming email" for general correspondence, while your invoices rule always replies in English because that's how your accounts are kept.
